Talk about What You Want in a Polite Way
● Use “would like” + noun to talk politely about something you want.
Q: What kind of room would you like?
A: I would like a big room.
● Use “would like to” + verb to talk politely about what you want to do.*
Q: What would you like to do today?
A: I would like to watch a movie.
*Notice “I would like (to)” is different from “I like (to).”
I would like to ride a motorcycle across Australia some day. (= I want to do this in the future.)
I like to ride my bike. (= I already do this, and I enjoy it.)
